A massive boulder tumbled down a hillside and struck a moving car at Nathpa Point in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, last week. The incident was captured on the car’s dashcam, showing the boulder smashing the vehicle’s front before rolling into the river below.
Despite severe damage to the car, the occupants miraculously escaped unhurt. Authorities have not confirmed the exact number of people inside the vehicle at the time.

The dashcam footage clearly shows the boulder gaining momentum as it descends the hillside, colliding with the car, and finally plunging into the river.

This near-miss follows a tragic landslide in Bilaspur district, where heavy rainfall triggered a deadly slide at Balughat in Jhanduta subdivision.
A passenger bus was buried, resulting in 15 fatalities. Locals, police, and disaster relief teams rushed to the site. An excavator was used to remove the bus roof and facilitate rescue operations.
Major Landslide Disrupts NH-5 Traffic
In a separate Kinnaur incident, a landslide at Choura blocked National Highway 5 (NH-5). Large volumes of rock and debris fell onto the roadway, causing long traffic jams and significant disruption for commuters.
